Secretary General
Manfred Nowak is an Austrian human rights expert and academic who served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture (2004–2010) and as a judge at the Human Rights Chamber for Bosnia and Herzegovina (1996–2003).
Administrative and HR Director
With a background as Vice-President of the Italian Section of Amnesty International, Elisabetta Noli has held various managerial roles at the Global Campus (and its previous iterations) since 1998.
Academic Director
George Ulrich, a Canadian/Danish academic, has been affiliated with the Global Campus in various leading capacities since 2001. He has also held multiple research and managerials roles at the Riga Graduate School of Law.
Administration and Reporting Manager
Valentina Abita has worked for the Global Campus in various roles since November 2013. She currently supports the Administrative and HR Director with grant applications, reporting, and other administrative procedures at HQ level.
Head of Office of the Secretary General
Imke Steimann supports the Secretary General by managing his agenda, organising missions, conferences, and events, as well as conducting background research and preparing presentations. She is also responsible for selected projects.
Project Officer for the Afghan Scholars and Students at Risk Project
Julia Runte, GC Europe/EMA Alumna, contributes to the implementation of projects dedicated to human rights defenders, supports the coordination of events, and assists with the overall administration of these projects.
Assistant to the Senior Management
Giada Ferrarese supports Senior Management and the Secretariat with organisational and administrative tasks related to the overall operations and management of the Global Campus.
