Resources for

Alumni

Are you an alumnus or alumna of the Global Campus? If you have graduated from one of the eight Global Campus regional Master’s programmes (ArMA, APMA, CES, EMA, ERMA, HRDA, MAHRS and LATMA), the answer is yes!

Operating under the slogan “Together for Human Rights,” the Global Campus Alumni (GCA) network comprises over 4600 alumni from more than 100 countries, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the global human rights community. The goal of thr GCA is to provide continuous support throughout your career by offering resources, opportunities, and networking platforms to aid your professional and personal growth.

Below is an overview of the services and programmes available exclusively for alumni.

The GCA Careers Programme includes two tracks: the Mentoring Track and the Job Applications Track. The first connects alumni, offering guidance and mentorship from senior human rights experts from all over the world; the second provides workshops led by experienced alumni, aimed at assisting recent graduates in crafting strong CVs, cover letters, and job applications.

The Global Internship Programme enhances the GC regional Master’s programmes by facilitating 5- to 6-month paid internships for top graduates in renowned human rights organisations, NGOs, and institutions. These internships provide valuable hands-on experience, allowing to deepen expertise and develop practical skills across diverse areas of human rights work.

Selected graduates are contacted directly by their respective Programme.

Alumni are regularly invited to events, including international, national and local conferences, seminars, and workshops. These events allow alumni to stay connected with ongoing global human rights issues, foster new partnerships, and network with professionals from diverse regions and backgrounds.

GC graduates have been invited as experts by prestigious institutions such as the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations, among others.

The Global Campus Alumni regularly launches new initiatives such as the Action Against Ecocide Diaries, a photojournalistic contest; projects with Right Livelihood Laureates, as part of our cooperation with Right Livelihood; and support to alumni-led activities, which allow alumni to further contribute to the human rights field while expanding their professional networks, skills, and expertise.

Global Campus Alumni issues a bimonthly newsletter in which we share updates about events, programmes, projects, upcoming events and career opportunities offered by the GC network and its partners. We also maintain a GCA LinkedIn group, with 4k followers, where we showcase graduates and their accomplishments through the GCA Stories, engage with and repost job postings, and showcase noteworthy initiatives and updates that are pertinent to our alumni.

Since its inception in June 2020, many alumni have actively contributed to the GC-curated blog, Human Rights Preparedness, which aims to play a bold and reflective role in developing and promoting a rights-based approach to emergencies. As part of this initiative, the Alumni Regional Correspondents’ programme offers a distinctive opportunity for skill-building. This programme includes paid training led by a former Guardian journalist, now an academic, designed to enhance the transferable skills of GC alumni.

The Global Campus provides alumni access to continuous learning opportunities, including MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), other free online courses, and podcasts To the Righthouse (curated by the Global Campus) and The Road Less Traveled (curated by an Alumna). The latter offers insight into less usual careers for human rights graduates. Alumni also receive discounts for fee-based courses organised by the Global Campus Headquarters in Venice.

To learn about new opportunities, subscribe to the GCA newsletter and check out the GCA Linkedin group.
